The work of the prominent Israeli archaeologist and epigrapher, Joseph Naveh, analyzes the development of the Aramaic script from ancient times, when it was close to the Phoenician script, to the 3rd century A.D., before it branched off after the fall of the Persian Empire. Various styles of the Aramaic script are studied based on the dated material.Downloads
