Abstract

With Jost Gippert's Georgian Manuscripts, a book has been published that primarily focuses on the material basis and the aspects of the production process of old Georgian manuscripts. This 172-page book contains about 260 illustrations of historical manuscripts within its 7 chapters. Georgian Manuscripts is a successful example of how to include a broad readership in scholarly analyses in such a way that neither comprehensibility nor academic standards are neglected.
