The Book of Job, The Rose of TherionAbstract
The subject of the review is an essay on The Book of Job included in The Rose of Therion, a collection of religious and philosophical essays. Parallels can be drawn between the cruelty of The Book of Job and the cruelty with which Porphyry rages on the author of the Book – Eli, who is the central character of Job’s story and is responsible for bringing on him such an unspeakable trial. The author of the essay can be considered Job’s fifth friend, who is not only Job’s defender and advocate against God, but also of the entire humankind. How to Cite
